The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially declared its 2027 presidential ambition as a nationwide rescue mission, unveiling a powerful coalition that includes civil society groups, grassroots movements, and political actors determined to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
At a pivotal National Executive Committee meeting held in Abuja, the ADC’s leadership announced that the party had concluded months of coalition-building and was now ready to lead a united front to “save Nigeria from total collapse.”
“This is a rescue mission,” declared the party’s national chairman, in a charged address to members and partners. “We can no longer watch millions of Nigerians fall deeper into poverty while our leaders pretend all is well. The time to act is now.”
Unlike typical political alignments focused solely on elections, the ADC says its new coalition is people-driven, designed to reconnect politics with the real needs of ordinary Nigerians. The party emphasized its collaboration with civil society organizations and community-based groups to build what it called a citizen-powered alliance.
“All politics is grassroots,” the chairman stressed. “That’s why we opened our doors, restructured our systems, and welcomed voices from every corner of this country.”
Citing rising inflation, unemployment, and insecurity, the ADC said the ruling APC has failed to deliver on the promises made in previous elections, and that Nigerians deserve better. The party now positions itself as the “only coalition-led party” capable of delivering lasting change.

With over 20 years of political presence but no opportunity yet to lead at the national level, ADC leaders say the coming election offers a turning point.
“We’re inviting every Nigerian who is tired of suffering to join us. This is not about power—it’s about saving our country,” the chairman added. “And with this coalition, we are ready to rescue Nigeria in 2027.
