President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr. Temitola Adekunle-Johnson as Special Adviser to the President on Job Creation & MSME and Mrs. Uju Anwuka as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Health. Both officials will serve in the Office of the Vice President, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to economic growth and public health.
The announcement was made by the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Communication, Stanley Nkwocha, in a statement on Wednesday. According to Nkwocha, these appointments are part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to implement the Renewed Hope Agenda. The newly appointed officials will assume their responsibilities immediately.
Adekunle-Johnson and Anwuka are no strangers to these roles, having previously served in similar capacities within the Vice President’s office. Adekunle-Johnson was formerly a Senior Special Assistant, while Anwuka served as a Special Assistant. Their promotions reflect the government’s recognition of their past contributions and dedication to national development.
Nkwocha highlighted Adekunle-Johnson’s track record in driving policies and programs that support job creation and the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria. Under his leadership, key initiatives such as the Expanded National MSME Clinics and the Shared Facility Initiative were introduced. These programs have played a significant role in supporting small business owners and entrepreneurs across the country.
On the other hand, Anwuka has been instrumental in advancing the administration’s efforts to combat malnutrition and hunger, particularly among vulnerable communities. As Special Assistant, she spearheaded the recently launched Nutrition 774 Initiative, a program designed to address malnutrition at the grassroots level in all 774 local government areas of Nigeria. Her promotion to Senior Special Assistant underscores the government’s commitment to tackling public health challenges and improving nutrition nationwide.
The Renewed Hope Agenda, which President Tinubu has championed since taking office, aims to boost economic development, job creation, and social welfare programs. The appointment of experienced professionals like Adekunle-Johnson and Anwuka aligns with this vision by ensuring that key sectors such as job creation and public health are managed by individuals with proven expertise.
