President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to visit Owerri, Imo State, today, September 30, where he will commission major legacy projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma and also unveil a book authored by the governor.
According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the visit underscores the strong partnership between the Federal Government and states in promoting infrastructure renewal, modernisation, and sustainable growth.
President Tinubu is expected to commission the Imo Concorde Hilton Hotel, the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre, the Asumpta Flyover, and the ultra-modern Imo Digital Learning Centre. Onanuga noted that these projects symbolise a shared commitment to progress and innovation, designed to uplift the socio-economic fortunes of the state.

Imo State Youth Empowerment and Governance Legacy
The presidency also commended Uzodimma’s digital and youth empowerment initiatives, such as the MylmoApp, the Imo Digital City, and the SkillUplmo Techosphere platform. Already, over 40,000 young people have been trained in digital skills, transitioning from dependency on handouts to becoming globally competitive wealth creators.
Onanuga further highlighted the Orashi Free Trade Zone, which has attracted more than seven oil and gas companies. The initiative is expected to generate jobs and stimulate industrialisation in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

As part of the working visit, Tinubu will also join other dignitaries in the official launch of Uzodimma’s latest book, “A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria.” The presidency stressed that the visit is not only a commissioning exercise but also a celebration of partnership and progress, reaffirming that Imo State is actively contributing to the national vision of innovation, opportunity, and prosperity for all Nigerians.
