The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has slammed a lifetime flight ban on Ms. Comfort Emmanson after a violent mid-air attack on Ibom Air crew members aboard flight QI 303 from Uyo to Lagos on August 30, 2025.
Following a thorough review of the detailed statement issued by Ibom Air, the association, through a press release commended the airline for its swift and professional handling of the matter, and we fully endorse the actions taken.
According to Ibom Air, trouble started when Emmanson refused to switch off her mobile phone during safety checks. She then physically assaulted the Purser, repeatedly slapping them, before attempting to wield a fire extinguisher as a weapon—forcing crew and passengers into a tense mid-air confrontation.

AON says the attack is “one of the most severe cases of unruly passenger behaviour this year” and fully backed Ibom Air’s swift handling of the incident. The group also called on the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to immediately tighten airport security nationwide.
This latest case follows other high-profile incidents, including the most recent confrontation involving fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1) and the altercation between Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Air Peace staff.

AON further warns that any passenger who engages in such violent behavior will face the same fate—a permanent ban from all member airlines, both locally and internationally.
