Rivers – The Rivers State Government has sent a strong message to investors and development partners: the door is wide open for collaborations that will drive economic growth and empower young people.

Speaking at Government House, Port Harcourt, on Sunday, the State Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, assured that Rivers State is committed to creating a business-friendly environment that supports sustainable investments.

Vice Admiral Ibas gave this assurance during a meeting with leaders of the Unity Schools Old Students Association (USOSA), shortly after the successful conclusion of the 3rd USOSA Sports Festival hosted in Rivers State.

He praised USOSA for choosing Rivers as the venue, describing it as a clear sign of the State’s peaceful atmosphere and readiness for business. He stressed that the government is eager to work with organizations that can boost education, sports, and the economy, helping to unlock the full potential of the youth.

“We are open to partnerships and collaborations that enhance economic growth through lasting investments,” Ibas said. “Initiatives like the USOSA Sports Festival don’t just promote unity; they add real value to our State’s economy and inspire our young people to aim higher.”

He added that education and sports are key pillars in the government’s broader plans to develop human capital and strengthen social ties.

In his remarks, USOSA President-General, Michael Ibrahim Magaji, thanked the State Government for its warm reception and appealed for more support to upgrade facilities in Unity Schools across Rivers State. Vice Admiral Ibas responded positively, promising to review their request.
