Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has issued a strong warning to Nigeria’s political elites, declaring that the era of election manipulation is over.
Atiku made the bold declaration in Abuja on Thursday while receiving a powerful delegation of Gombe stakeholders, led by former Minister and Senator Idris Abdullahi. The visit comes as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) gains momentum as a unifying force for opposition voices determined to reshape Nigeria’s future.
“I have taken a firm stand,” Atiku said. “No more stolen elections. No more bad governance. Nigerians deserve better, and I am ready to fight for it.”
He expressed deep concern over the continued suffering of citizens in a country blessed with abundant resources, blaming poor leadership and policy failure. According to him, the new coalition under the ADC represents a credible platform for real change.
Atiku praised the quality of the interim leadership steering the ADC and noted that the party’s growing support base signals hope for a new era of governance rooted in accountability and people-first policies.
The Gombe delegation didn’t hold back their support. They pledged total loyalty to the coalition and reminded Atiku of his lasting impact on Gombe’s development, especially his backing of Danjuma Goje’s governorship victory in 2003.
