Soldiers have taken over the popular Abuja/Keffi road to prevent protesters from gaining access into the center to carry out their protest against hunger and bad governance.
The soldiers mounted checkpoints at Mararaba, Kugbo, Abacha barracks and AYA Roundabout with Armored Personnel Carriers(APC), with other heavy duty vehicles.
As early as 5am in the morning, protesters had started leaving their various locations to join their comrades at Eagle Square and the Moshood Abiola stadium.
To ensure they get to the various venues approved for the protest, it was gathered that some protesters relocated to the city center to spend the night because of the heavy security presence in and around the city.
