Nigerian street-hop artist, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, widely known as Portable, may be out on bail soon—but not so fast.
On Monday, an Upper Area Court in Ilorin, Kwara State, granted the singer bail in the sum of ₦1 million. This came after his arraignment on multiple charges, including criminal defamation, inciting public disturbance, intimidation, and cyberstalking.
While the court has agreed to let him go on bail, the conditions attached are far from easy. Portable must present two sureties—one of whom must be either the Chairman or Secretary of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), while the other must be a landowner in a Government Reserved Area (GRA) with a Certificate of Occupancy.
These tough requirements have sparked conversations about whether the singer, known for his rebellious image and controversial lifestyle, will be able to meet the terms quickly.

The charges against Portable stem from allegations that he made defamatory and threatening comments against Fuji musician, Saheed Osupa. His arrest had earlier caused a stir online, with fans and critics weighing in on the issue.
