Despite being away from Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is still running the country, according to a statement from the State House
The President, who left Paris for London over the weekend, is said to be in constant contact with top government officials. He has reportedly been giving orders, especially to security chiefs, to handle threats in different parts of the country.
The Presidency explained that the President’s absence is only temporary and falls within the earlier stated two-week timeframe. His return to Abuja is expected after the Easter holiday.
While some Nigerians have expressed concern about his continued stay abroad, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, assured citizens that there’s no leadership vacuum. “Governance is going on without any interruption,” he said.
