Former Nigerian President and global peace ambassador Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has called on Nigerian leaders to serve the country with love, humility, and a true spirit of sacrifice—just as Jesus Christ did.
As the whole world celebrates Easter (the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ)this weekend, Dr. Ebele Jonathan went beyond the usual call for celebration and used the moment to speak directly to those in power. He urged leaders to embrace the values of servanthood and selflessness, especially in these challenging times for the nation.
“This season is not just for reflection,” he said. “It’s a wake-up call for leaders to remember why they serve—to make life better for the people.”

The peace ambassador who recently received the SUNHAK Peace Award explained that the resurrection of Christ is more than a religious event; it’s a symbol of victory, hope, and the endless possibilities that come with faith. According to him, Nigeria needs this hope now more than ever.
He encouraged all Nigerians to stay positive, remain united, and believe in a better future. “Let us draw strength from Christ’s sacrifice,” he said, “and stay hopeful that we will overcome the difficulties we currently face.”
