In a move that could reshape Lagos politics ahead of 2027, former Lagos State Gubernatoral Candidate, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has officially returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and visited Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to formally announce his comeback.
“Now we’re together. We’re back,” Jandor said during the visit, signaling a renewed push for unity within the Lagos APC.
Jandor explained that he had already declared his return at the local government level, which he described as the proper process for anyone joining or rejoining a political party.
“When you return to a party or join a new one, the right thing to do is to go back to your local government and make it official. We’ve done that,” he said.
The former Labour Party governorship candidate, who contested against Sanwo-Olu in 2023, praised the governor’s calm disposition during the campaign season.
“There’s nothing I didn’t do to provoke him. I poked him and poked him, but he stayed calm. That’s one of the reasons he retained his seat.”

He stated that his return to the APC is not just symbolic but strategic. According to him, the party’s performance in the last election suffered due to internal division, which he believes will no longer be an issue.
“We all saw what happened during the last election. The house was divided. But now, we’re back together. We’re ready to add our numerical strength and build a stronger front.”
Jandor also emphasized the importance of supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. He believes that doing so would help pave the way for younger leadership.
“If we allow another person from his generation to take over, we might wait another 8 to 16 years. So, this is our chance to prepare for that baton handover.”
