Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mohammed Uwais, describing him as more than just a judicial legend — but also family.
In a heartfelt tribute, Atiku highlighted Justice Uwais’ remarkable legacy of integrity, fairness, and deep commitment to democratic reforms, especially through his leadership of the Electoral Reform Committee.
Taking a personal tone, Atiku revealed that Justice Uwais was not only a towering legal figure but also his in-law, making the loss even more painful.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mohammed Uwais, who was not only a towering figure in our judiciary but also my in-law,” he wrote. “His legacy of integrity, fairness, and commitment to democratic reforms… will continue to endure.”
