In the wake of the recent and reoccurring violence across Nigeria, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of more than 50 lives in recent attacks across Borno, Plateau, Kano, and Kebbi states.

Speaking at a public event where he appeared solemn and visibly concerned, Atiku described the tragic incidents as “a devastating blow to our collective conscience as a nation.” His heartfelt statement went beyond statistics, stressing that every life lost was a story cut short — a dream stolen by violence.

“These are not just numbers. They are families destroyed, futures erased, and communities torn apart,” Atiku said.

He condemned the increasing normalization of violence in Nigeria and called for a bold, people-first approach to national security — one that places the protection of human lives above politics, bureaucracy, and excuses.

Atiku’s words reflect a growing frustration among Nigerians, who are weary of repeated security lapses and unending attacks. While offering prayers for the victims and their families, he insisted that now is the time for real, sustained action — not empty promises.

“We cannot continue to normalize this scale of bloodshed, our people deserve better. Nigeria needs leadership that cares deeply, acts swiftly, and protects without compromise,” he warned.
