A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Sani, has cast doubt on Peter Obi’s recent pledge to serve only one term if elected president in 2027, warning that the former Labour Party (LP) flagbearer, Obi supporters may not allow him to keep the promise.
Speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Tuesday from Abuja, Sani stressed that his concerns were not about Obi’s personal integrity but about political realities.

“Mr. Peter Obi could be very sincere, you know. But some people told me that even if he went to the shrine to swear, they wouldn’t believe him,” Sani said. “The issue I raised is not about Obi’s integrity but about how he panders to his supporters.”
