The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 38-year-old security guard, identified as Yisa Hassan, for allegedly masterminding a burglary in the Ifako area of Lagos.
The incident, which occurred on August 15, 2025, was reported by a resident who returned home to discover his house had been broken into and several valuable items stolen. The stolen property included one Sumec generator, one Fireman generator, one National air conditioner, and three air conditioner compressor engines, all valued at ₦1,785,000.
Detectives from the Iju Police Division swung into action and apprehended the suspect, who, according to investigations, conspired with accomplices still at large to carry out the burglary. The stolen items were subsequently recovered, while efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the gang.

Police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Saturday, noting that the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to rid the state of criminal elements. He further advised the public to always conduct proper background checks on employees before engaging them.
