The Kogi Equity Alliance (KEA) today delivered a powerful and unequivocal declaration in Abuja, demanding an immediate and non-negotiable power shift to the Kogi West senatorial district ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Speaking at a highly charged press conference, Architect Ahmed Usman, Secretary of the KEA, asserted that equity is not a suggestion but a “DEMOCRATIC RIGHT” that the organization is determined to defend and secure for the future of the state.
The central theme of the KEA’s address was the demand for rotational justice. Architect Usman framed the transfer of power as the essential guarantor of stability and peace in Kogi State.
“Power shift is justice. Power shift is stability. Power shift is the only road to peace and unity in Kogi State,” Usman stated. He vehemently rejected what he termed the “unjust and dangerous” denial of Kogi West’s rightful turn after 30 years of the state’s existence, warning that such exclusion “threatens unity and fuels division.”
The Kogi Equity Alliance reinforced its commitment through four “unbreakable” foundational pillars: Advocacy, Data-Driven Research, Equity (ensuring no district is inferior), and Governance built on Integrity.
Architect Usman delivered a final mandate regarding the upcoming political cycle, emphasizing that the KEA will “support ONLY an arrangement built on justice, equity, and rotation,” and will actively resist any structure based on “imbalance or entitlement.” The movement is positioning itself as an incorruptible force dedicated to democratic fairness.
Addressing both the people and the political class, Usman concluded with a powerful ultimatum: “A state that refuses justice invites crisis. A state that suppresses equity destroys trust.”
