The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the growth of Nigeria’s digital and satellite infrastructure during the Nigerian Satellite Week 2026. Speaking at the event, the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NCC emphasized the critical role of collaboration, innovation, and strategic engagement in advancing the nation’s space technology sector.
The week-long event, themed “Harnessing Space Technology for an Extraordinary Nigeria,” brings together researchers, engineers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to discuss practical solutions for expanding Nigeria’s digital and satellite capabilities. According to the NCC, satellite technology is central to enhancing communication, security, education, and emergency response systems nationwide.

The NCC CEO highlighted that regulatory frameworks and initiatives by the Commission are designed to ensure that technological advancements translate into real opportunities for Nigerians. He commended NigComSat for creating a platform that encourages knowledge sharing, innovation, and solution-driven collaboration across the space and digital sectors.
