APC Unveils Fresh Election Schedule, Announces Form Sales Price

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a revised timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections, detailing key dates for the sale of forms, screening, appeals, and primaries across all elective positions.

The announcement was made on Monday at the party’s National Secretariat, Buhari House in Abuja, and signed by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, with confirmation by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.

According to the party, the revised schedule aligns with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2026, and the timetable issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The APC stated that the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms will run from April 25 to May 2, 2026, while submission of completed forms will close on May 4, 2026. Screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 6 to May 9, 2026, covering State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship and presidential aspirants in phases, while screening appeals for State Assembly and House of Representatives aspirants will hold from May 12 to May 13, 2026.

Primary elections will commence on May 15, 2026, starting with the House of Representatives, and will proceed through Senate, State Houses of Assembly, governorship and presidential primaries, ending on May 23, 2026.

The party also released the cost of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms, with State House of Assembly aspirants expected to pay N1 million and N5 million respectively, House of Representatives aspirants N1 million and N9 million, Senate aspirants N3 million and N17 million, governorship aspirants N10 million and N40 million, and presidential aspirants N30 million and N70 million.

It added that female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities are required to pay for the Expression of Interest form and 50 percent of the Nomination fee.

The APC directed that all payments be made into designated party accounts with Union Bank, UBA, and Zenith Bank.

The revised timetable comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections in line with constitutional provisions and INEC guidelines, with the APC noting that the adjustments are aimed at ensuring smoother internal processes and coordination of its nationwide primaries.
