Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for president in the 2023 general elections, has hailed the virtues of the President of Adeleke University, Dr Deji Adeleke.
Deji Adeleke is a Nigerian businessman and president of Adeleke University. He is the father of popular musician David Adeleke, also known as Davido.
In a post on his X handle on Wednesday, Atiku described Adeleke as an agent of change and a successful businessman who shares a deep passion for Nigeria and education.
While wishing him a happy 67th birthday anniversary, the former vice president praised Adeleke for his many charitable deeds, which have improved the lives of many of his people and others living outside of his domain.
Atiku wrote: “The story of Deji Adeleke can never be defined by the vast resources that God has endowed him with through a successful stint in business. Instead, his legacy is defined by the outstanding things he has put those resources to. Deji and I share a lot in common: a deep passion for Nigeria and education as a change agent. He has indeed been deliberate about his philanthropic interventions.
“Unarguably, Adeleke University is his most significant charity investment aimed at giving the greatest number of his people and those outside of his domain a headstart in life. The unassuming patriarch of the Adeleke family has undoubtedly infected his immediate and extended family with this philanthropic gesture. Deji, and indeed the Adeleke family, is the best representation of the best of our diversity. On behalf of my family, I rejoice with my friend and brother on his 67th birthday anniversary and wish him many more years in good health and service to Nigerians and humanity. Happy birthday, Deji. -AA”
