Gunmen suspected to be bandits have invaded a mosque in Kankara local government area of Katsina State on Thursday, killing three persons and kidnapping several others.
A source in the area revealed that the bandits raided the mosque and opened fire on the Muslim faithful during the Isha’i evening prayer session, leaving three persons dead, four others wounded and unconfirmed number of worshippers abducted.
He further explained that the hoodlums also moved into the town where they abducted a man and two women and also killed a man who refused to go with them.
“Unfortunately, the man’s refusal to go with the assailants cost him his life as he was mercilessly butchered for daring to defy the abductors,” the source said
