Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has moved to calm tensions within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following the party’s presidential primaries, visiting former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi in Abuja alongside key party stakeholders.
Atiku, who clinched the ADC presidential ticket on Wednesday night, was accompanied by former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, ADC founder Ralph Nwosu, and other party leaders during the strategic consultation aimed at unifying the party after the contentious primary exercise.

Amaechi had earlier rejected the outcome of the primaries, expressing anger over the conduct of the process after losing the primary.
Sources within the party said the post-primary consultations were part of broader reconciliation efforts to prevent internal divisions ahead of the 2027 general election.
The ADC presidential aspirant also visited another aggrieved aspirant, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen immediately after he was declared winner of the ADC presidential primary on Wednesday night.
One would describe this action as a deliberate move to rally aggrieved aspirants behind the party’s presidential campaign.
