Reports say suspected terrorists have abducted a driver and all the passengers in an 18-seater commercial bus belonging to the Katsina State Transport Authority (KSTA).
A KSTA staff who pleaded anonymity said the incident occurred on Thursday at about 12.30 pm involving the bus traveling from Funtua in the southern part of the state to Katsina, the capital city.
“It happened between Burdugau and Yar Goje villages on the Mararaban Kankara – Kankara highway in Kankara Local Government Area,” the source said, adding that the terrorists were armed with guns and other dangerous weapons and herded the passengers into the nearby forest.
The Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer could not be reached for comment on the incident.
Kankara is one of the about 23 out of the 34 Local Government Areas of Katsina currently under regular attacks by terrorist-bandits.
