Nigeria’s national satellite operator, (NIGCOMSAT), has announced plans to host the second edition of the Nigerian Satellite Week (NSATWK 2026) on March 30 and 31, 2026 in Abuja.
The event will bring together government officials, defence leaders, satellite operators, investors and technology startups to discuss the future of Nigeria’s satellite and digital infrastructure sector.
According to NIGCOMSAT Managing Director, , the event coincides with 20 years of Nigeria’s space economy, highlighting the country’s progress since the establishment of the satellite company in 2006.
She said the gathering will showcase Nigeria’s achievements in satellite technology and explore opportunities for future growth in the sector.
In recent years, NIGCOMSAT has recorded major milestones, including a Low Earth Orbit connectivity partnership with and cooperation with the to strengthen regional collaboration.
The company will also launch Accelerator Cohort 3.0, a programme designed to support startups developing satellite-based solutions in areas such as agriculture, connectivity, logistics and digital services.

Other highlights of the event include a Startup Demo Day, a Stakeholders Forum for policy discussions, and a Gala Night to recognise individuals and institutions contributing to Nigeria’s space sector.
Senior government officials expected at the event include the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, the Chief of Defence Staff, and leaders of agencies such as the and the .
NIGCOMSAT said the event will serve as a platform to showcase how satellite technology is supporting Nigeria’s digital economy and national development.
