The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has confirmed a new venue for its National Convention in Abuja after earlier raising concerns about difficulties securing a location less than 24 hours before the event.

The party had initially alleged that it was denied access to major public facilities, including the Eagle Square and the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, despite submitting formal requests ahead of the convention scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
Speaking on the situation, the Chairman of the convention’s media and publicity sub-committee, Kola Ologbondiyan, said the party wrote to the office of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, requesting permission to use Eagle Square but did not receive approval before the deadline.
He also stated that ADC officials approached authorities at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium but were denied access to the Velodrome facility. According to him, several private event centres in Abuja allegedly declined to host the convention due to fears of possible government pressure.
Despite the setback, the party insisted the convention would proceed as scheduled and reassured members and supporters that all necessary arrangements were underway.
In a later update shared via its official communication channels, the ADC announced that the convention would now hold at the Rainbow Event Center, Area 8, Garki, Abuja, located near the FCDA/AGIS Building and close to the NTA Headquarters.
