IN an unprecedented move that underscored his military status, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ekwe Ibok-Ete Ibas, has snubbed a Federal High Court which barred him from appointing chairmen for Local Government areas in the state.
Flagrantly ignoring the court order, Admiral Ibas announced a list of 23 names said to have been appointed to oversee the administration of local governments in the state.
The names were contained in a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika.

Specifically, a federal high court had in Port Harcourt had issued a restraining order against the Sole Administrator stopping him from going ahead with the action until the substantive suit was determined.
Justice Adamu Turaki Muhammed had made the restraining order following a suit filed by Pilex Center for Civic Education, a civil society group, represented by Courage Nsimirovu.
Hearing on the substantive suit is billed to commence on April 14.
