Kano PDP Backs Jonathan’s 2027 Presidential Ambition, Pledges Loyalty to Party Leadership

The Kano State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has declared its support for the presidential ambition of Goodluck Jonathan, while reaffirming its commitment to decisions taken by the party’s national leadership.

The state PDP Chairman, Hon. Yusuf Ado Kibiya, made the declaration on Monday during a press briefing at the party’s secretariat in Kano, where he addressed recent political developments and internal party affairs.

Kibiya said the Kano chapter had reviewed the decision of the party’s National Executive Committee regarding Jonathan’s candidacy and would continue to operate within the framework of the party’s constitution.

According to him, the state chapter respects the process that led to the decision and recognizes the authority of the national leadership to determine the party’s direction.

“Kano PDP has reviewed the national executive’s decision regarding the presidential candidacy of former President Goodluck Jonathan,” Kibiya stated.

He added: “We acknowledge and respect the processes that led to this decision and affirm our support for their right to determine the party’s national trajectory, within the framework of our constitution and legal guidelines.”

The chairman further noted that the Kano PDP would continue to engage with stakeholders to strengthen the party ahead of future elections.

“Our regional chapter remains aligned with the party’s broad objectives and will engage in constructive dialogue to advance PDP’s mission across Kano and Nigeria,” he said.

Kibiya also urged party members to remain united, disciplined, and focused on achieving the PDP’s goals.

He assured supporters that despite recent defections and political realignments, the party in Kano remains cohesive and committed to providing credible democratic leadership.

According to him, the PDP remains dedicated to promoting democratic values, accountability, and public service, while continuing to play a significant role in Nigeria’s political landscape.
