The Lagos State Police Command says it recorded major breakthroughs against crime in June 2026, arresting suspects linked to armed robbery, cultism, impersonation, illegal immigration, vandalism and unlawful possession of firearms.

Briefing journalists on the Command’s monthly achievements, Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, said operatives recovered 14 firearms, four live cartridges, 51 mobile phones, two vehicle engine control units (ECUs), a MAN diesel truck, an operational motorcycle, vandalised electric cables, 47 sacks of military camouflage uniforms and 80 cartons of suspected illicit substances.

Among the major arrests was a suspected “One Chance” robbery syndicate member, from whom police recovered 51 mobile phones believed to be proceeds of previous robberies. Officers also arrested two suspected fake soldiers and recovered a pump-action gun, while another suspect was apprehended for allegedly impersonating a Nigerian Navy officer.

In another operation, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit intercepted an unregistered truck loaded with 47 sacks of military camouflage uniforms and 80 cartons of suspected illicit drugs. Three suspects were arrested, while investigations are ongoing to determine the source and intended destination of the suspect items.

The Command also rescued 38 foreign nationals from possible mob action in Epe. Police said 20 of them entered Nigeria illegally, while 18 possessed valid ECOWAS travel documents. The matter has been referred to the Nigerian Immigration Service and relevant embassies.

Fatai reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing and urged residents to continue providing credible information to support efforts aimed at keeping Lagos safe.
