The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, says Nigerians remained ‘visibly mired in poor governance and poverty’ because successive administrations attempted to suppress the people through policies, actions and inactions in order to remain in power.
The Former governor of Anambra state said this in his message to mark the 63rd independence anniversary.
While he urged Nigerians not to despair as a result of the current hardship in the country, Obi called on Nigerians to remain resolute and be hopeful that a new Nigeria is still Possible.
The LP candidate said the burden of responsibility is on Nigerians to take back their country.
