Nnamdi Kanu Trial Day 6: Defence Continues Cross-Examination of DSS Witness

KANU TRIAL: Abuja – The ongoing trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), resumed for Day 6 at the Federal High Court in Abuja, with the defence team continuing its cross-examination of Department of State Services (DSS) witness.

A key witness identified only as BBB remained on the stand as cross-examination entered its second day. The atmosphere around the courtroom remained tense but orderly, with legal teams exchanging measured arguments.

Speaking briefly after the proceedings, Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer described the day’s session as smooth and productive.

“Things went well. We continued the cross-examination of BBB today – that’s day two. We’ll be back tomorrow to continue and hopefully move on to other witnesses,” he said.

The defence appears to be building momentum, carefully dissecting the testimony of DSS operatives involved in Kanu’s arrest and detention.

As the legal battle unfolds, supporters of Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB continue to watch closely, with many demanding justice and transparency in the process. Security remained tight around the courthouse, as has been the case since the high-profile trial began.

Kanu, who faces charges bordering on terrorism and treasonable felony, has been in DSS custody since his controversial rearrest and extradition in 2021. His legal team continues to challenge the credibility of the prosecution’s evidence and the legality of his detention.
