African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has visited the site of the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State, demanding a thorough and transparent investigation into the incident.
Sowore raised concerns about military aircraft procurement, maintenance and operational safety, insisting that Nigerians deserve answers about the aircraft’s condition before the crash and whether established safety procedures were followed.
He also criticised what he described as shortcomings in the emergency response, crash-site management and investigative process, calling for accountability over the tragedy.

During the visit, Sowore interacted with military personnel guarding the wreckage and sought clarification on measures taken to secure the site and facilitate investigations.
He was accompanied by former Ondo State governorship candidate Kunle Ajayi and activists from the Take It Back Movement, led by its National Coordinator, Juwon Sanyaolu.
After inspecting the crash site, Sowore and his entourage departed by boat into the riverine creeks of Ondo State. Their destination was not immediately disclosed.
The visit comes amid growing scrutiny of military aviation safety and calls for greater transparency in the management of Nigeria’s security institutions.
