‘VDM, Sowore, Randy Peter Are the Real Opposition – NANS President Mocks Opposition Parties

The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Atiku Isah, has said that activists and social commentators are currently playing a stronger opposition role in Nigeria than many politicians.

Speaking on Naija Unfiltered, Atiku Isah said figures such as social media activist VeryDarkMan, political activist Omoyele Sowore, and commentator Randy Peters, Princess, aka Mama P, are doing more to challenge the government than official opposition leaders.

According to him, many opposition politicians in Nigeria have failed to show the courage needed to hold those in power accountable.
He argued that ordinary citizens and activists have increasingly become the real voices speaking against government actions.

Atiku Isah said the role played by these individuals shows that opposition is no longer limited to political parties but also includes activists and members of the public who speak out against injustice.
He noted that when citizens become frustrated with the state of the country, they often express their dissatisfaction through protests and online activism.

The NANS president criticized many opposition leaders, saying they have not done enough to defend the interests of Nigerians.
He added that leadership requires courage and the willingness to challenge authority when necessary.
According to him, anyone who wants to lead the country must be bold enough to confront injustice and speak for the people.
